We are big fans of this unpeated distillery. It has just the right hint of coastal, which we think is a giveaway if doing a blind tasting. Although young, we felt that the best of these island characteristics shone through. Ideal to be included in our first release line-up.

Founded in 1881 and expanded in 1963. Bunnahabhain has been used for the heart of blends such as Famous Grouse, Cutty Sark and Black Bottle. Located on the northern shores of Islay, it’s name is pronounced “Buna havn”, meaning “mouth of the river”. A very special distillery predominating creating unpeated whisky. Yes, it’s unusual for Islay but they do it exceptionally well. It’s water source from the Margadale river, flows underground, and rises through limestone. Since Bunnahabhain doesn’t have its own onsite malting so the malt is sourced from nearby Port Ellen Maltings located on the southern coast of the Island.

Returns must be received in a re-saleable condition, with no damage to the packaging of the product or to the actual product itself, with no seals or safety measures compromised.
